The Foamposite Galaxy is being released Friday and dozens of excited fans have been camping outside shoe stores for days to ensure they snap up a pair.

“We tried to put up tents but the police shut us down,” said City Tech College student Andrew Poveda, 18, who secured his spot Saturday afternoon outside Foot Locker on W.33rd St. and has skipped school all week.

“I’m missing out on tests,” he confessed. “If I get my size I’m keeping them. If I don’t, I’m going to sell them.”

The shoe has a space theme because it is being released ahead of the NBA All-Star game in Orlando, near NASA headquarters.

It has a glow-in-the-dark sole, dark purple graphics, and is made of a high tech ultra-durable foamposite material. The waxed canvas upper allegedly simulates an astronaut’s training suit.

Each store will get a limited supply of the shoes, which are expected to fly off shelves at the speed of light.

“They’re beyond hard to get so we took a trip to New York City,” said Henry Albarez, 19, who drove from Redding, Pa., with three friends to get in line.

Albarez and his pals brought a cooler of food and several botles of water to keep them going.

“We brush our teeth and spit it into the street and we brought wet wipes. We have peanut butter, beef jerky and like, five liters of water,” he said.

“I’m losing a whole paycheck to come here cause I got off work for a week,” he added.
